Time to highlight one of our spectacular athletes! What makes up an Athlete of the Month? Not RX’ing every workout or lifting the most weight. This athlete exhibits consistency and a hard work mentality. Every time they come to the gym they have a good attitude and give their all. This person is also welcoming of others, helping make CFHD the best community there is. Each month we choose a different athlete and post some fun facts about them to help y’all get to know them better.
Congrats are in order for Miss Nicole Lee! We are so thankful she walked in our doors over a year ago. She has transformed so much from the inside out. We love her love for getting better! She is consistent in the gym and isn't afraid to stay after class and work on skills (we love this). From hard work in the gym, to cleaning up her nutrition and lifestyle we are so proud of Nicole. Keep up the good vibes and hard work! H Dub is lucky to have her day in and day out.

What were your goals when you started CrossFit?
My goal when I started Crossfit was to stay active on a regular basis. Also wanted that CrossFit body!
How long have you been doing CrossFit and how did you get into it?
I’ve been doing crossfit for a little over a year now. I started right after I ran a half marathon. I needed something to keep my focus on fitness that I wouldn’t get bored with.
What is your favorite/least favorite thing we do in CrossFit?
I love the gymnastics stuff. It makes me feel like a kid and it looks super badass too! I don’t think there’s anything I don’t like about CrossFit.
How has CrossFit H Dub positively affected you?
Well honestly? It’s totally changed my life. I feel like I’m part of a community of people who want to better themselves. Every time I go to H Dub, I leave feeling like I’m climbing that ladder. I’m a little better each day. I’ve actually quit smoking too. I’m 29 and have been smoking since I was 15.. I couldn’t have done it without H Dub. I want to be a better person because of the inspiration I get from everyone there.
What advice do you have for newcomers?
Have fun, stay positive and work hard! Some things are scary and seem impossible, but you’ll get a little better each day and before you know it, you’ll be killin it!
What is something no one at the gym knows about you?
I won a World Championship with my Drumline back in 2011. That was pretty sweet.
Who are 3 people you would have a meal or drink with dead or alive?
If you had an intro song when you walk into the gym what would it be.

Here’s the thing... I never played sports growing up because I was always in music. I’ve always felt insecure playing sports because it was never part of my life. That’s why CrossFit is so awesome. It’s given me a foot into that world. As far as watching sports goes though, I like hockey the best.
If you could have one super power what would it be?
To read minds. Psychology has always been a huge interest for me. I gotta know how other people think...
What is your favorite cheat meal?
Pizza and breadsticks. All. Day. With a bottle of wine of course. Because I’m classy
