Time to highlight one of our spectacular athletes! What makes up an Athlete of the Month? Not RX’ing every workout or lifting the most weight. This athlete exhibits consistency and a hard work mentality. Every time they come to the gym they have a good attitude and give their all. This person is also welcoming of others, helping make CFHD the best community there is. Each month we choose a different athlete and post some fun facts about them to help y’all get to know them better.
November's AOTM is non other than Miss Ruby Davis. This girl always manages to have a positive attitude EVERY TIME she walks in the door. It could be the hardest workout ever and she is excited to do it. Her good vibes are what we love most about her, but her work ethic inspires everyone around her. She sets goals and does what she needs to do to achieve them. We love having this awesome gal in our H Dub fam!

What were your goals when you started CrossFit?
To get in shape for snowboarding season and stop smoking cigarettes.
How long have you been doing CrossFit and how did you get into it?
I've been doing CrossFit for a little over 2 years. I got into it because one day my friend from work walked in with shorts on and I was like "Whoa how are you so jacked???" and she said she did CrossFit so I signed up that day and I haven't smoked another cigarette since that moment.
What is your favorite/least favorite thing we do in CrossFit?
Favorite: Any olympic lifts, but especially any complex that has split jerks in it.
Least favorite: Running
How has CrossFit H Dub positively affected you?
I could write a 10 page essay for this question. I graduated college in May and packed up my little car and drove down here from Vermont. Only knowing one person combined with a little bit of culture shock has been a tough transition. I joined H Dub as soon as I got down here and 99% of my friends in Nashville I've made from this gym. Whenever I'm having a rough day I know I can get in the car and be completely stress free for an hour and feel better when it's over. The Dub has made Nashville a home for me!
What advice do you have for newcomers?
Don't cherry pick work outs, just get in the car and go. Be consistent and don't take yourself too seriously :)
What is something no one at the gym knows about you?
I have been sailing since I was 6! I once raced in a storm and capsized the boat.

If you could have one super power what would it be?
Unless doing a muscle up is considered a super power, it would have to be remembering everything I ever learn and knowing exactly when and how to apply it.
